2023: A Year in Review
We’ve had quite the year at Speed Medical, and what better time to reflect on a fantastic 2023 than during the run up to Christmas. We’re extremely proud of our incredible team and everything we’ve achieved this year, and we look forward to an equally exciting 2024.
We invested heavily back into our network
2023 was a big year for our internal processes, and we’re thrilled to say we have invested a significant amount into a newly developed supply chain platform which allows us to offer a much more flexible and transparent experience.
We also worked hard on building new partnerships with a number of ATE insurance providers too, expanding our network to offer a better, all encompassing service, and invested heavily into our IT and infrastructure to enhance efficiency and security as well.
For us, 2023 has been all about building better, more aligned processes. We’ve heard our customers, and the past 12 months have been focussed on not only meeting their expectations, but taking every opportunity to exceed them in every area we can.
We hosted a number of quirky internal events
At Speed Medical, we couldn’t do what we do if it weren’t for our fantastic team, so when the chance arises for us to do something special for them, we relish it.
This year to say thank you, we hosted two all-out staff parties for both summer and Christmas, and a Healthy Hearts event for Valentines day, as well as dedicated in-office celebrations for Pancake Day, International Women’s Day, Easter, Halloween and even an all-new Polish Fat Thursday, which was a firm favourite amongst the team.
We recognised our incredible teams’ efforts and dedication
Throughout the past 12 months, plenty of our Speed Medical employees celebrated significant milestones within our business. Not only were Gavin and Harleigh recognised as our Employees of the Year, but we also had the absolute pleasure of issuing £9,400 in awards this year too, including handing out 7 long service awards.
In fact, those long service awards will be much more shortly, as in 2023, 40% of our workforce hit their 5 year anniversary of working with us, with 20% of staff reaching their 10 year anniversaries on top. We even celebrated a further 5% who have progressed within Speed Medical and the wider Group alone this year and highlighted our Team of the Year as being MedCo for a full 12 months of incredible work.
But if those milestones weren’t enough, we also had the pleasure of welcoming 51 brand new team members in 2023 as well, including Amelia Spencer who joined us as a Business Development Manager in Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury.
We attended many industry awards and conferences
From being shortlisted at this years’ Claims Media Personal Injury Awards in the Medico-Legal Provider of the Year category, and the Modern Insurance Magazine Modern Claims Award for the Supporting the Industry category, to attending the Spinal Injuries Association Cornflower Ball, 2023 has been a year filled with relationship building, networking and celebrating our industry.
Invitations also came in to attend the I Love Claims MGA Claims Conference, Legal Futures PI Futures Conference and the Association of Consumer Support Organisations (ACSO) lunch with Sir Bob Neill MP, and so we jumped at the chance to get involved. Then when further opportunities came up such as joining the Fletchers Group Birth Injury Conference, the Medico-Legal Conference and First4Lawyers Ltd.’s 15th birthday celebration too, our calendars quickly filled up with the chance at rekindling old relationships and seeing some very familiar faces.
We rallied together to support charity activities
Whether it’s through volunteer work or raising funds, tackling Tough Mudder or taking to the course for a charity golf event, giving back to our local communities means a lot to us here at Speed Medical.
Our work is centred all around people, and so its close to our hearts to support those around us as much as possible. Because of this, we were delighted to attend the launch event for Fletchers Foundation, whilst also heading to the Child Brain Injury Trust event with DAS UK Group and the MCA Annual Dinner.
We also attended the Fundraise on the Fairway Event by Brake, the Road Safety Charity, as well as the JMW Solicitors LLP charity lunch on behalf of Child Brain Injury Trust too.
But we didn’t stop there.
We were also trusted by our clients Allianz Legal Protection to host a silent auction after they kindly sent us a rugby ball signed by the England team to help raise much needed donations for our local foodbank, and we were also incredibly grateful for all the donations and contributions received towards our holiday hunger campaign too, which allowed us to deliver much needed supplies for Chorley Help the Homeless, which now stands at over £800 worth of donations.
We have achieved some staggering numbers
Between November 2022 and November 2023, we introduced over 70 new customers to Speed Medical who have been impressed with our expert coverage, expert quality, and wide-ranging service offerings particularly in relation to clinical negligence and serious injury case handling service and excellent transparent commercial models.
We celebrated our 25th birthday
Having first launched Speed Medical in 1998, we have grown and evolved, adapting to changing market conditions and technological advancements.
The past 25 years have seen us expand our services, technologies, and our panel of medical experts, all whilst establishing long term relationships with our clients along the way, and our success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees and the unwavering support of our customers, old and new.
Looking back on the past 25 years really does fill us with pride, and whilst we look forward to what the future has in store for us, we also treated our entire team to an evening of bowling, playing mini golf and sampling cocktails.
