5 minutes with… Our new Head of Rehabilitation, Andrew Moss

Last week we welcomed Andrew Moss to the Speed Medical team! Joining us as Head of Rehabilitation, Andrew is responsible for driving new processes and bringing innovation and development to our Rehabilitation product offering.

1. What are your main responsibilities?Andrew Moss

I’m responsible for the direct leadership of our Rehabilitation teams.

2. What is your main objective within this role?

To support the teams in further developing processes, identifying future opportunities and helping build on our proposition and delivery to customers and business partners.

3. What jobs have you done prior to Speed Medical?

For the last 15 years I’ve been part of the senior leadership teams for Carphone Warehouse, a major business processing outsourcer, a large accident management firm and NHS Professionals.

4. What has been the highlight of your career?

Something other than joining Speed Medical?! In a recent role I was able to deliver large scale process, technology and cultural changes that resulted in significant, measured improvements to the customer experience and journey, increased sales and improved team culture.

5. What has been your greatest personal achievement?

I auditioned for a lead role in a musical called ‘Guys & Dolls’ and despite having no acting experience’ plus the added challenge of the lack of a singing voice, I got the part! Following months of rehearsals I performed for 4 nights and even managed a positive review from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.

6. Where were you born/where did you grow up?

I was born in Manchester and grew up in Warrington.

7. Fun facts: 3 fun facts about you?

I was shot and killed by a World War 2 Russian fighter plane in a war movie called ‘Soldiers of the Damned’ and was also an extra in a Daniel Day-Lewis film. Growing up I was often getting myself into difficult situations. One time I jumped into a bog to see what would happen and ended up stuck in mud over my waist – I had to be pulled out. I once got stuck on a small island, my mum had to come home from work to arrange to get me back (was grounded for that one). I used a candle instead of a torch - burning my mum’s green house down. I wanted to see how close I could ride my bike to the canal bank – I obviously fell in with my bike. These days I am a little more calculated with my risk taking!

8. Do you have any pets?

I love dogs but have a cat.

9. What are the best things in life?

Time with friends and family, beer, food and holidays.
